Editing/Proofreading

Spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors can damage a business or professional’s image, credibility and trust. I remember reading a newsletter introduction article written by a new principal of a local school. The letter had two spelling errors and one punctuation error and was distributed to all families in the district. What a first impression! I happened to see the principal on several occasions afterwards and couldn’t look at him without thinking about those errors. Whether or not the errors were indicative of his ability to lead a school isn’t the issue. The effect they have on other people’s perceptions is real.

I’ve had experience as an editor and proofreader in a variety of capacities. I have a BA and MA in English and five years experience as a high school English Writing teacher. Other relevant experiences include work as a private writing tutor, academic dissertation editor, website editor, and manual editor.
