About

I’ve always been a writer. As a child, I would fill notebooks with drafts of my next big idea. I continued writing as a hobby all throughout my middle and high school years. In college, I pursued a BA in English and went on to teach high school English and Composition and also worked as a private writing tutor. I then earned an MA in English Writing with a focus on nonfiction.

Today I’m a mother of four who also enjoys the outdoors, camping, live theatre, and taking my children to explore new places. I’m a freelance SEO copywriter and editor and have worked in this role for a variety of different clients over the past 11 years from home.

When my son was diagnosed with autism in 2012, I became interested in autism research and advocacy. I started the website learnfromautistics.com where I continually engage with the Autistic community through my blog. I am also the author/editor of a guidebook for parents of Autistic children with advice generated from interviews I conducted with Autistic adults. The book is published through Autism Asperger Publishing Company (AAPC) and available now in stores and online.
